Files rarely remain inside the environment where they were created. They travel through email, cloud platforms, partner networks, websites and partner networks, crossing several trust boundaries along the way. Traditional integrity controls establish trust through the infrastructure surrounding a file. Once a file leaves that trusted perimeter, confidence in its authenticity diminishes. As enterprises adopt zero-trust architectures, legacy data integrity solutions cannot keep pace with the information that continuously travels.

Integrity Travels With The File

The technology addresses a longstanding weakness in computing. Any content can be assigned any file name, and because file names can be changed, they provide very little integrity despite being the primary way users identify files. Existing approaches, such as PKI signing and hashing, help validate specific files but remain dependent on supporting infrastructure and are typically applied to only a small fraction of enterprise data.

VeraFile’s portable file identity creates a durable, human-readable trust layer that strengthens existing security controls across both computer and human workflows. VeraFile does not replace PKI signing or hashing, but completes the trust model around them. It strengthens these protections by attaching a digital fingerprint directly to both the file and its name, making unauthorized modifications, signature removal or content substitution immediately evident.

Built to seal every file an organization produces or uses, from high-volume log files to PDFs, Word documents, videos and images, VeraFile provides integrity at enterprise scale. Capable of processing up to 500,000 files per hour on a single core, it supports both high- and low-volume workloads. The technology also secures ZIP containers by protecting the container and every file within them, generating a manifest that preserves integrity throughout distribution. As organizations increasingly exchange compressed data packages across business ecosystems, this capability addresses a security challenge that has traditionally received limited attention.

VeraSec emphasizes usability. Many security solutions introduce operational complexity through protected keys, secret management or user intervention.

VeraFile operates on mathematical principles over cryptographic keys, allowing integrity verification to run seamlessly in the background. Whether deployed as a browser plug-in or a service that monitors directories and storage volumes, the solution is designed to integrate into existing workflows with minimal disruption.
